Manage workspaces and access
A workspace brings together structured data, documents, branches, members, and access rules within an encrypted body of knowledge. Use separate workspaces when projects need separate membership or governance.
Create and select
Create a workspace with a recognizable name, then select it for your current working directory:
legra workspace create --name "Team Research"
legra workspace use "Team Research"
Use legra workspace current before starting work. A command's explicit
--workspace option overrides the saved selection.
For existing workspaces, use workspace list to find one and
workspace info <workspace> to inspect it. Full identifiers avoid ambiguity
when workspaces share a name.
Choose a member's role
| Role | Access |
|---|---|
| Reader | Read workspace data |
| Writer | Read and change data |
| Admin | Write access and membership management |
| Owner | Full workspace control |
Grant the access needed for the person's work. An account's access can differ between workspaces.
Invite and join
An administrator or owner invites a member using their identity:
legra workspace invite "Team Research" <member-identity> reader
The recipient accepts the invitation:
legra workspace accept-invite "Team Research"
Review access with legra workspace members "Team Research".
The Membership reference covers declining
invitations, suspending members, reactivating them, and revoking access.
Review access over time
Check membership when someone changes responsibility or leaves a project. Removing access does not erase data that person previously downloaded. Treat exported copies according to your organization's data-handling policy.
See Workspace commands for deletion and Workspace apps for adding capabilities to a workspace.
